MISP Training - INCIDENTRON workshop: From incident to intelligence: Improving detection while sharing what matter

When: 4th Mai 2025 14:00-17:00 CEST

Where: Remote (Zoom and online MISP training instance)

Price: Freely accessible (session will be recorded)

Summary agenda: This interactive workshop explores how real cyber incidents can be transformed into actionable threat intelligence that improves both internal detection capabilities and collective cyber defence. Starting from concrete incident reporting scenarios, we look at how structured incident data can be enriched, analysed and selectively shared to extract indicators, patterns and lessons learned that are useful for security teams. A key focus is on MISP as mechanism to operationalise this exchange: how incident indicators and contextual information can flow into MISP, be shared with trusted communities, and be reused to strengthen detection rules, threat hunting, and response workflows within an organisation. The session also addresses common challenges such as avoiding information overload, sharing the right level of detail, and aligning operational needs with reporting and collaboration obligations. The workshop is aimed at end-user security teams, with relevance for CSIRTs, and focuses on practical takeaways: how to turn incident experience into better detection, smarter sharing, and more effective collaboration, for your own organisation and the wider community.
